1868 Restaurant
The first stone house built outside Jerusalem’s Old City walls houses a restaurant named 1868, the year of its construction.
This unique edifice in King David Street invokes memories of the days of the building of the new city of Jerusalem. The small communities who left the old city for the new brought their traditions and flavours with them and created a new Jerusalem cuisine.
Chef Jacob Turjeman combines traditional Jerusalem raw-materials, the culinary tradition of the city’s residents and the techniques of precise cooking of French cuisine offering an international menu that combines classic dishes and contemporary unique Jerusalem cuisine
The historic building, the food and meticulous service determine the restaurant’s special character.
